About Moon Phase Radio
According to its website:
‘MPR first started broadcasting on the 1st of January 2010. Initially MPR stood for Mind Potion Radio and derived as a service from mindpotion.com. As things progressed it was decided to give the station its own identity and it was re-branded as Moon Phase Radio on 11th March 2015.
The concept for the station was born as a result of a cancer diagnoses for the owner of mindpotion.com. He found during hospital stays and treatments that ambient music was a great means for relaxation and it became a personal coping mechanism. Tiring of loading music onto Mp3 players it was decided that streaming online was a easier way forward.
Making the stream public soon attracted audiences of almost 400,000 listeners a month. The word soon spread amongst the community and dozens of air-play requests from musicians were received every week.’
